Reading Earn Draw

Fresh from their 6-0 drubbing by Arsenal the previous week, Second division Ayr United played English second division Reading at Somerset Park on 3rd August 1987. John Sludden and Scott scored for the Honest Men in the dismal 2-2 draw.

The serious of bad pre-season results, however, heralded a championship winning season for the Honest Men.                                                                                 A programme for this match was produced.
