Charlie Phillips had come from West Ham United to play for Ayr United in season 1910/11 and was part of the first ever match against Hurlford. At the end of that season he was top scorer with 22 goals for the season.

Chris played his first game for Ayr United on 30th July 2005. Born in Irvine, Ayrshire Chris has had 98 appearances since then, scoring 16 goals. He left the club in May 2008.
