Nine Goals for Rampant Ayr

This match was played on 1st July 1973 as part of Ayr United’s first tour of Canada in June and July of that year. 

Played at King George V Park in St John’s Newfoundland, United ran up nine goals in an emphatic 9-1 win. The highlight for the Honest Men was a five goal solo effort from George McLean and a hat trick from Alex Ingram with Davie Wells finishing the rout.
