Good Hunting at Links Park

Matches against Montrose have been limited due to the clubs playing in different leagues for long periods of time.

An early win for Ayr at Links Park was on 7th January 1956 in a ‘B’ division match - the score being 4-2 for the Honest Men.

The last league meetings between these two clubs was during Ayr United’s 2nd division championship winning season of 1987/88 with Ayr winning the 7th November encounter by 4-2 and throwing in a Scottish Cup win for good measure. 

Ayr United travelled to Montrose again on 16th October 1990 to play a B&Q Centenary 2nd round match winning 2-1 after extra time.
