Millwall paid there first vist to Somerset Park on 27th July 1996 for a pre-season friendly which would begin their season as a third division side, having been relegated the previous season.

In a 4-3 win Steve Kerrigan (2), Isaac English and Gregg Hood netted for Ayr.

The programme for this match was a joint one for a series of pre-season friendlies at Somerset Park.
