Gelfe’s Double Blow

Ayr United have played Gelfe IF of Sweden on two separate tours of that country. 

The first encounter, played on 23rd July 1998, ended in a 2-1 defeat for Ayr in front of 2,700 fans, Findlay scoring for Ayr.

Ayr’s second visit on 23 rd July 2000 Ayr failed to take revenge, the score being 1-0 for the Swedish side. This time, however, only 317 fans turned.
