Rugby Scores at East End Park

United’s first match against the ‘Pars’ of Dunfermline was on 30th November 1912. Ayr had obtained Celtic’s left back Willie McStay on loan just before the match which ended 0-0.

Results are not easy to come by at East End Park, Dunfermline and heavy defeats were commonplace particularly in the mid seventies and at the end of 1980’s early 1990’s. However, 13th October 1973 saw a huge 4-0 win for Ayr in a 1st division encounter.

It was not until 22nd November 1980 that another first division match produced a solid 3-2 win for Ayr. 10th October 1992, saw a good 3-1 win for Ayr, again in a 1st division match.

A late goal from the Pars Stephen Glass at East End Park on 2nd October 2007 earner Dunfermline a Challenge Cup Final place at United’s expense.
