Dens Blues for Ayr

Dens Park has always been a difficult venue for Ayr although success has been achieved nevertheless. On 12th April 1975, as Ayr pushed for that final tenth position to snatch the final place in the new Premier League, they managed a superb 3-2 win at Dundee. Ayr had a useful win in that Premier league at Dundee. 

On 31st January 1981 Ayr had a solid 4-2 win a 1st division match. Season 1991/92 saw a bizarre sequence of cup and league meetings between the clubs with Ayr winning an extra time Skol cup match 4-2 on 21st August 1991 before losing in the league match by 3-1 on 14 September 1991. The B&Q cup game on 1st October saw a good 2-0 win for Ayr .
