St Lorient Festival Success for Ayr

Ayr United played Irish side Cork Hibs in a four team French tournament at St Lorient on 5th August 1973. Fresh from a successful Canadian tour, United had already one their first two matches of the French tournament before lining up against Cork in the final.

George McLean scored two with Rikki Fleming getting the third as Ayr clinched the trophy with a 3-1 win over the Irishmen.
